AROMATHERAPY AND ESSENTIAL OILS (GERMAN CHEMOMILE PLANT AND GERMAN CHEMOMILE OIL)




GERMAN CHEMOMILE ( Matricaria recutica)
German chamomile, blue chamomile or wild chamomile is a member of the asterceae family of plants. It has tough feather like leaves and daisy like flowers on a single stem. German chamomile is an annual herb native to the temperate regions of Europe and western Asia. It has become naturalized in North America, where it grows wild. It grows best in poor, sandy soil in full sun.

GERMAN CHEMOMILE ESSENTIAL OIL
German chamomile essential oil is extracted from both the flowers and leaves by steam distillation; the essential oil has a dark blue color with a sweet herbaceous aroma. The major chemical component is called azulene. Azulene forms only when the essential oil is extracted.

USES OF GERMAN CHEMOMILE OIL
German chamomile oil is used as an ingredient in many shampoos, perfumes and cosmetic products; it’s for these products most likely for its medicinal ability and sweet fragrance.

German chamomile is used as a cure for bladder infection, rheumatism, inflammations and tissue regeneration.
