A LITTLE HISTORY OF MANDARIN
The name Mandarin comes from ancient China; the Mandarin was educated public official belonging to one of nine ranks, during the centuries of the Chinese Empire. The Mandarin fruit was specifically presented to him as a gift. Many researchers believe that the name Mandarin was given to the fruit in honor of that official title.

MANDARIN ESSENTIAL OIL
Mandarin oil is extracted from the peels of the Mandarin fruit by cold pressing (cold pressing- the peels are rolled on a trough with a sharp projection, the projection penetrates the mandarin peels, pierces the tiny oil pores. Finally, the peels are squeezed releasing both the essential oil and the some mandarin juice remaining in the peels, which are than separated by a centrifuge).

Then chemical constitutes of mandarin oil are:
1.      Geraniol
2.      Citronelled
3.      Limonene
4.      Methyl-methylanthranilate
5.      Citronellal

USES OF MANDARIN OIL
Mandarin oil is an active ingredient in many cosmetics, body creams, lotions, skin care products, soaps perfumes, soaps, perfumes and colognes.

It’s used in aromatherapy for baths and massages; it’s an antiseptic, sedative, anti-spasmodic oil, a diuretic and a relaxant having a soothing calming effect on the mind and body.

Mandarin essential oil is a very effective essential oil but, has a very short shelf life (6 months to a year). A possible cause of this short shelf life is the extraction method. With that in mind, don’t buy to store, buy small, buy for immediate usage.
